If you’ve ever had to struggle with hair that frizzes up at the slightest opportunity, you’re not alone. The slightest hint of humidity in the air, or a slight chill in temperature and your hair is full of flyaways that just won’t stay put! If you’ve tried every serum or cream possible to hold it in place, read on because I recently found a product that works really well to tame that mane.
TIGI is a recent entrant to the hair market in India and I’ve always loved their fun, out-of-the-box names for products and that colourful packaging that makes it stand out at every salon I’ve seen it displayed. The TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Anti Frizz Serum is no exception. Let’s get right into it and you’ll see what I thought about this product.
Packaging: It looks more like fancy glitter glue, with its sea green colour and tiny micro glitter particles in a transparent bottle with a nozzle and cap. I found it a little tough to work with the nozzle so I preferred to unscrew the entire cap and use it.
Price & Quantity: Rs. 1000 for 250 ml
Texture: The serum is a gel like clear liquid that goes on smoothly on to palms.
Directions for use: I find that it’s good to use on slightly wet or damp hair, right after you’ve shampooed and conditioned your hair. Use a very small coin-sized amount on your hair.
My Experience with TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Frizz Control and Straightener Serum
The TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Frizz Control serum works as a good way to tame your hair post-shower. It feels a little sticky, so it’s better to take a small amount, rub it on your palms and scrunch it into your hair. What I liked was it also serves as a good protection if you’re planning to straighten your hair or blow dry it. It doesn’t have a strong scent as such which was also a good thing – there have been many serums that have a certain hair oil type scent or perfumed scent that gets a little too much.
The serum dries along with your hair, and leaves it straightened and sleek. I usually prefer to scrunch a bit of it into the ends of my hair and then use a blow dryer or a straightener on it. This helps hold hair in place and reduce frizz. The texture can be slightly sticky which you would have to deal with. If you take out a lot it may leave your hair greasy and limp so be careful as to how much serum you take out.
- Does not have a strong scent
- Works well on damp hair
- Good for creating styles
- Tames and smooths frizz well
- Can get a little sticky/greasy so use in limited quantities
- If used in more quantity hair can get a little stiff
Overall the TIGI Bed Head Control Freak Frizz Serum is a good option for those of you with slightly wavy to frizzy hair if you prefer a much more sleeker, straighter look. Also a good way for smooth styling while it’s still damp.
