December always holds a special place for me, and I always miss home around this time. In Delhi, every shop, house and building is lit up with fairylights. There’s a chill in the air, and I don’t mean the 25 degrees people here consider as cold – it’s actually 13 and below. Time to bring out all those gorgeous coats and jackets and boots. When hot chocolate or a glass of wine pair perfectly with the weather outside. When your cat loves to snuggle or curl up at your feet as you watch a great movie.
Hey guys! The 90s seem to officially be back since last year, and from chokers to platforms and off-shoulder tops, there’s so much that’s making its way back. One of my favourite trends is the off-shoulder trend but my second favourite has to be fishnets. If you’re on Instagram and Pinterest as much as I am, you’d see them everywhere! Fishnet stockings are fun, sexy and versatile enough to be paired with different styles. If you thought you couldn’t pull this look off, don’t fret. Here are 3 different ways to style fishnets to give you some inspiration. Check it out!
Lyrics: Love will come to you by Poets of the Fall
What’s more indulgent and lazy than a delicious brunch on a Sunday afternoon? It’s another feeling entirely to be able to wake up late without worrying about that dratted alarm going off, and to look forward to either doing a lot of exciting things or absolutely nothing at all.
Lyrics: Lotusflower by Radiohead
Hi loves! It’s been a great couple of weeks, I recently got a lot of new music to listen to, and I’ve been listening to it wherever I get the chance. I’ve got Radiohead’s In Rainbows album stuck in my head, in the best way possible! I have a couple of interesting events lined up too for the coming weeks, which you’ll see pretty soon on my Snapchat (follow me here if you don’t yet!).
As we enter 2017, I can’t help but look back at the year that’s gone by and take a good look at the good, the bad and the awesome. It was a year of many ups and downs.
Hi loves! Hope you had a wonderful Diwali celebration. Diwali for me has always had special associations that are close to my heart. Amidst the fireworks exploding in the sky, the sheer indulgence of the sweets mom makes, and all the close conversations, Diwali is one time of the year when we get to do something special.
The end of summer is approaching, and here in Bangalore it means that the trees look lovelier than usual, with their foliage and flowers making for a beautiful picture wherever you go. It’s the season for colour, and given my general leaning towards fun, bright colours it was of course bound to happen that I’d come up with a new outfit of the day that focused on bright tangerine!
Just over ten to fifteen years ago, it was commonplace for parents and for us to think about jobs in terms of three major factors – salary, job security and the name of the company. Landing a government job was considered the best possible thing and jobs were just that – jobs, that’d keep the home fires burning. Women working wasn’t as common as it is now.
Today’s outfit of the day with Treewear is inspired by my love for nature. Sometimes, there’s nothing more relaxing than taking a walk by yourself in a place of natural beauty. There’s something so calming about taking in the beautiful surroundings, whether you’re in a park, with so many trees, the sound of birds chirping, and people taking a walk or children playing. Or if you’re by a lake, or when you’re out vacationing in the hills. It gives you a sense of peace, and makes you appreciate this world so much more.
Lyrics: Four Seasons in One Day by Crowded House
What’s summer all about? For me it’s bright colours, weather that blows hot and cold (when rainy Bangalore strikes) and tons of indulgence (cold desserts, mangoes, pina coladas, iced tea and everything in between!). It was a slightly sultry summer evening when we decided to start with our very first fashion shoot, and it’s quite interesting how we met. I chanced upon a rather talented photographer (check out her work btw, she’s pretty amazing and from Delhi) who I chatted with on Facebook and the natural progression was to become friends on the platform. When I’d mentioned wanting to collaborate with someone for my next shoot, she tagged her Bangalore friend, equally freaking talented. Starbucks meetup happened and voila. I absolutely loved shooting with her, and I’m looking forward to the next one! I hope you like the photos as much as I did.
