If there’s one thing a lot of us have in common – it’s that we all have trouble getting how to organize your closet. Face, it whenever you have to head out for a party or a brunch date, your room probably ends up looking like a tornado hit it. There’s no such thing as too many clothes – but don’t you think your poor closet needs rehauling and reorganizing from time to time? Here are some of my hacks that I deploy from time to time to keep it in order, and my personal favourite that you just have to check out!
The first step in knowing how to organize your closet is to figure out everything that you own. It’ll take you time, but it’s important. Sort your clothes into piles for ‘Worn once after impulse purchase at the mall’, ‘Worn frequently’ and ‘Let’s face it I’m not going to fit into this anymore’ 😀 no, seriously. It’s great to have fitness goals but keeping the jeans you wore in the first year of college in the hope that you’ll someday fit into them again is kinda unrealistic. There’s nothing wrong with going up a size, PLEASE remember that. Looking good is about so much more than just being skinny or the ‘right’ size. So don’t keep those jeans and hog unnecessary space in there. Add them to the third pile.
Get hangers, lots of them. Hangers are your best bet for neatly storing all your blazers and dresses. Roll up your t-shirts into a small pile at the front of your closet instead of just folding them, that’ll occupy less space. A great way to know how to organize your closet!
If you find lots of clothes in the ‘worn once’ and ‘not fitting’ categories, here’s a super amazing way to declutter! Elanic is an app that I stumbled upon that lets you do two brilliant things – one is that you could sell your rarely worn clothes that are in great condition to others who might love them. All you have to do is download the app, post a good picture of the clothes you want to sell and price them. Someone from the Elanic team will arrange to pick up the garments, sanitize them and send them to their new home while you earn in the process! Win-win, isn’t it? I recently started putting up some of my closet on Elanic, and so if you loved an outfit I’ve posted here, you can shop for it too!
In this way, you benefit in both ways – you’re getting to earn from clothes you don’t really or haven’t really worn much, and you also get to upgrade your closet by shopping from a fashion blogger’s closet!
I recently picked up a gorgeous midi skirt from Elanic too, which I will be styling separately in an outfit of the day post. The process was what I loved – I entered my address after adding it to my cart, chose my payment option and in less than a week, it arrived, packaged with a lovely note and it looked brand new!
So if you want to earn while you add the most stylish items to your closet, give it a try – use my referral code “SSS” when you sign up on the app for a sweet Rs. 200 off your first order! You can also follow me on the app (sartorialsecrets88) as I list items from the looks and outfits I’ve been posting on here. Creating an account is really easy, and so is becoming a seller on the app. Let me know what you think too, because you know I love your comments and feedback.
