“J’accepte la grand aventure de la d’etre moi.” – Simone de Beauvoir
I accept the grand adventure of being me.
A mind buzzing with ideas. A heart that refuses to stop believing in people, and has a lot of love to give. Sums up who I am in bite-sized pieces for you.
Fashion, for me, is an escape. A world where I can be exactly who I am, no holds barred. And it’s been a fascinating journey so far, which I’m so grateful for.
You know the feeling you have, when all you want to do is wander, escape from it all yet stay rooted to everything you love?
That’s exactly what inspired this fashion editorial with French fashion designer Karnit Aharoni.
French Fashion Designer Karnit Aharoni
When French fashion designer Karnit Aharoni told me she would like to work with me, I was thrilled, because I could relate so much to her brand’s aesthetic. Her pieces reveal classic, understated pieces that still manage to make an amazing statement in themselves. Parisian chic that intertwines with the designer’s Middle-Eastern roots.

For this partnership, we decided that the Karnit Aharoni Joy shirt was the perfect piece. Crafted in the finest quality of cotton poplin, the Indian-inspired embroidery on the mutton-leg sleeves is just stunning. A classic piece styled in 2 different ways.
Looks With The Karnit Aharoni Joy Shirt
I like to think of this look as what I’d wear if I had to get away without a return date in mind, to a destination that has lots of open spaces, as few people as possible, and with just my notebook in hand.
My love for colours and interesting styles led us to come up with this beautiful interpretation of the brand. It evokes communing with nature, and getting back to your roots.
My journey with fashion over the years has been more about rediscovering myself, of revisiting the times when I would turn the pages of a magazine and dream of creating content that can inspire people. It’s something I constantly try to do through my writing and my visual work. But working with people who have similar thoughts and ideas is a delight in itself. Karnit’s sartorial vision, and Nishal’s ideas behind the lens, Sweccha’s view of putting everything together and Tshering’s expert hand with makeup all came together ever so perfectly.
The French fashion designer Karnit Aharoni’s label to me is the perfect example of worlds coming together, of ideas that go beyond just clothing, but extend to an aesthetic, an expression of her roots and her unique identity as someone creating art through her work.
I see this shoot as something we all created together, as a team, something that took shape in our minds and then came together ever so beautifully.
I’d love to know what you think, so let me know in the comments below!
