There are some vacations that you really should take – not just because it’s a break from the usual craziness of your life, but because they stay with you long after the tans fade and the memory of it settles in. My birthday trip to Bali with When In City was one of those.
Everyone’s favourite Farzi Cafe has recently come up with brand new additions to its menu. Personally I have loved how much they’ve brought in experimentative Indian cuisine with so many restaurants now trying to keep up with it too. From Bailey’s lollipops to Parle G cheesecake, their one-of-a-kind dishes captured everyone’s imagination! Read on to know what’s new on the menu at Farzi.
It’s always a pleasure to dive into the amazing melting pot that Asian food is. There’s so much innovation along with introducing traditional aspects of the cuisine that we’re gradually discovering through a lot of restaurants opening up. You know those subtle yet spicy flavours, those delectable dimsums, and delicious gravies and sauces? Well, this time I got to explore the Southern side of Chinese cuisine at Zen, the Leela Palace. Whenever I daydream about taking a vacation, my mind travels to the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, where I imagine myself enjoying a wonderful meal with a glass of the region’s finest wine, and taking in the scenery. There’s something just so refreshing and romantic about travelling through the vineyards, soaking up the sun and sampling a few of the best vintages. While Italy will hopefully happen someday, last weekend I had the most amazing time at the Grover Wines vineyards right here in Bangalore and I’m going to tell you all about it right here on the blog! Read on 🙂
No one does fine dining quite as well as the Italians. There’s so much more to Italian cuisine than just pizzas and pasta, and someone who truly loves Italian cuisine would know there’s a lot to discover. I recently had the chance to experience a curated menu of Italian specialties from the Northern region of Italy, paired with some exquisite wines at Marriott, Whitefield.
Sodabottleopenerwala is one of the best Parsi restaurants I’ve been to, with its old-world, retro vibe, its hilarious take on Parsi culture and most of all its delectable food. I was recently invited to the Parsi Lagan Nu Bhonu, a month long celebration commemorating 3 years of the restaurant, with the traditional Parsi wedding feast.
Nachos are my first love when it comes to easy to eat fast food. Those little triangles of crunchy goodness topped with jalapenos, olives, salsa and globs of melted cheese…mmm. They’re my go-to food to order whenever I’m out with friends or when I’m in the mood for eating junk. So when Hard Rock Cafe announced their Nachos Gone Wild festival, of course I did a small jig in my head as I accepted the invite! Read on to know about all the different types of nachos and margaritas we tried.
My last event of 2016 was getting to try out the all-new menu at Hunan Koramangala with Dineout. Asian food can be as mind-boggling as it can be delightful – there’s so many different flavours, colours and combinations. For those of us used to the Indian hybrid of ‘desi Chinese/Thai’ it might be a little tough initially to adjust to authentic tastes. There’s so much that goes into authentic Asian food, though, and you can read on to know what I thought of the new additions to Hunan’s menu.
Au Bon Pain has been a place that holds a lot of comfort for me. When I used to live in Koramangala, my brother and I would often go there for a quick coffee or some delicious bagels on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Their soups are also warm and comforting and worth a try. Recently, I was invited to experience their new ‘Winter Hotties’ menu. Read on to know what’s worth a try and what to miss from the menu!
