There’s something just so ethereal and beautiful about cherry blossoms – the Japanese seem to agree, considering they have an annual Cherry Blossom viewing festival! The delicate pink blossoms are a wonderful sight to see in the middle of the concrete jungles that are our cities. Sakura means cherry blossom in Japanese, and recently I had the chance to explore one of the most stunning collections of diamond jewellery crafted around this theme.
What’s the first thing people notice about you, and what do you love the most about yourself? For me, it’s always been my height, and my sense of style. I’ve always towered above everyone else from the time I was a kid, and while I have faced a lot of bullying and unwanted comments (I still get those!) for it, I love my height and couldn’t be prouder of it! As for my sense of style, my mom had a lot of influence on me, growing up. She’d always pick out the most one-of-a-kind stuff for me to wear, and it became part of who I am.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by glasses and eyewear frames. My whole family wore them, except me and though I didn’t want the issues associated with it, I’d always try on my parent’s or brother’s glasses to see and imagine how I’d look if I had them. Back in the 90s when I grew up, frames and lenses were pretty limited. But recently, with the emergence of geek chic and non-prescription eye glasses, my fascination is back. For those of you who do wear glasses though, I’ve put together a few of my favourite frames from Specsmakers and styled them for you! Take a look 🙂
When we were little girls, we’d sit starry-eyed on our mom or dad’s knee listening to them read out fairytales. Of lands far away, of kings, queens, princesses, evil witches, castles and dragons. Our imaginations soared, and we’d dream of someday finding our own story and crafting our own wondrous world.
If there’s one thing everyone looks forward to during the monsoon, it’s all the awesome sales! Who doesn’t love a great deal on something that’s been on your wishlist since forever, and coming home with lots of shopping bags to unpack?
I mean it when I say that everyone should get to travel at least once or twice a year, whether it’s within your own country or abroad. Travelling opens you up to so many new experiences and it’s just so much fun discovering a whole new city! My Bali trip was one of those experiences that I’m sure never to forget. When it comes to vacations though, there’s something that’s super important to me and that’s my wardrobe! I make sure to choose clothing that’s not only suited to the place I’m going to but is also totally on trend. Here are 5 such outfits I tried when I was in Bali. Read on for more!
What does ‘bohemian’ mean? The dictionary definition is ‘socially unconventional’, but for me it’s all about being a free spirit. About individuality, about expressing oneself wholeheartedly, and embracing every aspect of who you are.
Every year, the Met Gala is an event the fashion world looks out for, and each year brings with it a new theme. There’s so much excitement over who’s wearing what, and there have been some iconic looks like Beyonce’s 2015 Givenchy gown or Alexa Chung’s Philip Lim tuxedo. It’s a true celebration of fashion as art, where dresses may require their own staff to carry them, or light up or do other interesting things we’ve not seen before.
