The Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick range was recently launched across India. Nykaa has been coming up with many different products lately and so far they’ve been of good quality in an affordable range. I’m a total liquid lipstick hoarder myself, if you follow me on Instagram you’d know I am OBSESSED lol. I got the chance to try out 4 shades from the entire collection, and here are my thoughts on it!
The Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipsticks are each named keeping a particular city of India in mind. I attended the launch at their Bangalore VR mall store, and it was a fun take on girls from different places! I (obviously) went for Dilli first because of course I’d want a lipstick named after my favourite city.

My Experience Using Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick
First, I love the concept behind the Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick range. It’s pretty fun to name lipsticks after all the cities in India. Post launch, they added many more shades in addition to these too. We’re all beautiful because of the diversity in this country!
Now let’s begin with the basics. Application is pretty easy with the slightly bent doe-foot applicator. It lets you apply it easily along the contours of your lips. There is a faint sweet smell but thankfully nothing too overpowering.
Shades: Bombae is a light brown shade which seems to be more suited towards light skin tones. Kudi, my favourite is a bright fuschia that would look amazing on most people who love bold colours. IT Girl is a lovely mauve, muted shade of pink that’s perfect for work. Finally, Begum is slightly similar to IT Girl, though it’s lighter and leans more towards purple.
Texture: It’s thick and creamy, however when you apply it, it might need an extra coat or two. In addition, if you have dry lips you might want to moisturize with a lip balm. Blot it with tissue paper to prime your lips, and then apply. You can also use lip liner in a close shade all over your lip before applying.
Staying Power: The staying power of Nykaa Matte To Last liquid lipstick without eating or drinking anything is about 4 hours after which it starts crumbling and settling in fine lines, starting from the inner area of your lips. If you do eat or drink it would be up to 3 hours.
Overall, I liked the shades that I tried from the collection, Dilli and Kudi being my favourites. If you’re looking for a budget liquid lipstick, you might like this. However, if drying is a problem, and if you need something long lasting this might not do it for you.
- Huge selection of shades for every type of person
- Easy to apply with the slanted applicator
- No overpowering smells
- Non sticky
- Dries easily
- Not for longwear
- Settles into fine lines
- Gets drying even if you apply lip balm beforehand
