As far as Fashion Weeks go, I’ve written about NYFW and attended Bangalore Fashion Week. Fashion definitely has a long, long way to go as a serious industry in India. Though the major fashion weeks like Amazon India Fashion Week are helping with it. I attended Amazon India Fashion Week for the first time, for the Autumn/Winter 2018 season. The street style looks that I came across were so inspired and fun. It made Bangalore Fashion Week seem more like a snoozefest where people wear what they usually do to the club on Saturday Night.
I decided I would be more creative with my outfits for my first time at Amazon Fashion Week. So here’s a look at what inspired my look for each of the 4 days I attended.
Amazon India Fashion Week Day 1: Sartorial Secrets & my relationship with colour
I wanted to start Amazon India Fashion Week with a splash, so I went all out with my personal style. I’m all about the colour as you know. Ever since I was a little kid, colours have fascinated me. Right from the time I longed for the 72-colours pastels pack for drawing, to when I started stocking up my wardrobe on my own. Spring for me is especially perfect for taking out all those bright reds, greens, purples, reds and more and playing around with them. This outfit channels that playful side of me while also experimenting with Spring 2018’s trends.

Amazon India Fashion Week Day 2: Ultraviolet Experiments
I have always loved purple as a colour and all its variants, whether it’s royal purple, ultraviolet or lavender, and so I was delighted when I saw it make a huge comeback on all the Spring 2018 runways.
My mom got me this gorgeous purple wrap around skirt, traditionally called a mekhala, a while ago from an Assamese artisan. I also gave this lovely calf leather Hidesign bag from their brand new Kalki Koechlin collaboration a daytime twist by pairing it with this look.

Amazon India Fashion Week Day 3: Fusion of two worlds
At Amazon India Fashion Week this year, I saw a lot of fashion inspired by cultures from Asian countries, from our own India to Japan, Korea and China. This is one of my personal favourite outfits. I’m wearing a traditional Bhutanese tego bought on my trip to Bhutan. It’s worn by Bhutanese women usually over an inner shirt or thermals and paired with a kira or long skirt. This outfit combines my love for colours with my deep appreciation for different cultures. The brooch is from my mom’s Thailand visit years ago.

Amazon India Fashion Week Day 4: Street Style Fusion
Embracing two worlds here – formals and street wear. I picked up this crazy cool grey lip shade from Nyx and this outfit was the perfect mood to put it on! Also fell in love with my new powder blue kicks that ASICS sent me recently!
