Blue lines are the reason why the temple had to shatter ft.

Lyrics: Blue Lines by Massive Attack

How have you been doing, loves? The weather in Bangalore is beautiful right now, transitioning into this city’s version of fall. That means lovely, cloudy skies and pleasant curl-up-in-your-blanket weather that makes you think of all the good things – hot cocoa, a great book, and boots.

I’ve always been fascinated by the history of things we totally take for granted now. Sunglasses, for example. The trend started in the 20s when movie stars wanted to avoid getting recognized and also because of how their eyes would get tired from the constant exposure to bright arc lights. Finally it was sold to the general public for the first time on a boardwalk in NJ and the craze caught on!
Sunglasses and eyeglasses now are more than just a way to protect your pretty eyes – the right pair can really add lots of personality to your outfit. I got the chance to style these blue frames from recently. I love the blue tint and the fact that I can pair it with something like this as well as with a casual outfit. They’ve got lots more where this came from, and you can use my code GSHOT50 to get 50% off any pair of your choice!

There’s no such thing as owning too many pairs of prescription sunglasses! I personally have many styles, from aviators, to wayfarers and cat-eye sunglasses and I love trying them out in different ways depending on my outfit.

I’m wearing this pair with a new dress I picked up recently that comes with a denim corset belt. I love how corsets have evolved from being rather constrictive and even possibly oppressive in the 18th century, to its modern avatar. While celebrities like Kim Kardashian use it for ‘waist-training’, it can just be a great way to make a plain white t-shirt dress stand out, and to cinch in your waist.

While I get into high gear with my blog and work life, I’m trying to figure out so many things ever since the LifePlugin Summit that I attended in Goa. I have learned that ultimately quality matters over quantity. While it can be easy to get caught up in the numbers rat race, it’s important to focus on what you really love and what defines you. Arm yourself with all the knowledge you need and implement it as you go along. And that’s really the key to succeeding at whatever you do!
