Contouring, strobing, highlighting – is it just me or is it so hard to keep up with all these terms these days? Well, all I know is that these techniques somehow work, and get you that oh-so-natural glow. It may seem so, but it’s really not that much of a rocket science. Recently I was sent this lovely Strobe & Define Palette from BeYu cosmetics. They’re a (relatively new to India) German brand recently launched, and I’m going to show you what I thought of the product, as well as a look using the product.
Packaging: The Strobe & Define Palette comes in a simple 4-pan magnetic palette with a helpful illustration on how to use the product given inside and on the cover. The size and weight of the palette makes it ideal for travel or just to keep in your handbag for quick touchups.
Price: Rs. 1450
Usage: The palette has 4 shades to be used in different ways – the Contour, Strobe Matte, Blush and Strobe Pearl. The Strobe Matte works as a flawless finish powder, while the Strobe Pearl works as a highlighter. The contour and blush help define your face.
Availability: Kiosks at Lifestyle, Central, New U currently in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata
My experience with the BeYu Cosmetics Strobe & Define Palette
The BeYu Strobe & Define Palette at first look comes across as something that’s super easy to use. You don’t need to look up a dozen YouTube tutorials just to figure out how to use it or how to contour with it. The pictures serve as a simple and easy guide on how to use which colours where on your face.
I swatched the 4 shades for you here (one swipe). They are not super pigmented which makes for a subtle and less caked on impact with the makeup. If you need more colour you can gradually build it up using your brush.
Here’s a look I created using the BeYu Cosmetics Strobe & Define Palette.
I started with a bare face, and used a light coverage foundation as a base, as well as concealer. I used the Strobe Matte as a face powder all over. Using the Contour shade, I traced my cheekbones and the sides of my nose to create more depth and shadows. Then using a blush brush, I lightly dabbed Blush to my cheekbones and finally added Strobe Pearl as a highlighter on the top of my cheekbones, forehead and tip of my nose.
My main impression with the BeYu Cosmetics Strobe & Define palette is that it’s very simple to use if you want a subtle and not overdone look.
