With technology making forays into every field including medicine, it was only a matter of time for it to gather in its wake the fields of cosmetology, dentistry, and allied paramedical and aesthetic sciences. The Wave Group, one of the leading business conglomerates of India launched SENS – India’s first holistic age-management centre in South Extension, New Delhi.
The launch of SENS held at the Imperial Hotel, New Delhi, on 21 April 2016, saw an exclusive gathering of internationally renowned doctors, aestheticians and cosmetologists. Mrs Shanam Chadha, Director, Wave Group, introduced some of these partners: Mr Neil Petch, Chairman, and Dr Graham Simpson from Primal MD, UAE; Dr Mark Houston from the Hypertension Institute, Nashville, USA; Ms Julie Powell from Great Lengths UK, and others.
‘Sens’ is an integrated state-of-the-art consumer-focused facility that positions itself in the centre of an ever-growing healthcare market, seamlessly blending Eastern and Western anti-ageing philosophies to impact lives SENSitively. It brings together the best international and Indian practices, medical practitioners and the latest technologies to provide revolutionary age management and wellness solutions, making people feel vibrant, happy, healthy and more energetic. It aims to empower its customers, while enabling doctors, health experts, traditional healers and practitioners to enhance wellness and begin cure before they get sick.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Sanjay Sachdeva, Executive Director, SENS Clinic, said: “SENS is a thought leader in its field of extending lifespan and adding life to your years without medicine and hospitalization.” He said that the core philosophy and thought behind SENS was to treat lifestyle diseases and disorders without exposing the patient to harmful tests using a 360o approach to defy age. Noting that the modern stress-filled, frenetic pace of life gave rise to toxic thoughts, he said that SENS had tapped into the wisdom of Ayurveda and energy healing techniques and roped in the Brahmakumaris and ISHA Foundation to introduce yogic practices and meditation techniques.
A short video film was screened to explain the various services being offered at the SENS clinic providing solutions to multifarious range of age-related problems. The vision of SENS was to cater to the needs of people 65 years and older due to exponentially increasing life expectancy, using an integral approach to heal the body for inner and outer wellbeing.
Dr Graham Simpson noted that conventionally, a reactive rather than preventive way of treating disorders was followed in medical practice. At SENS, clients were encouraged to choose to be disease-free by stressing the preventive aspect of health care. Noting that India was the third most obese country in the world, Dr Simpson highlighted the presence of cardiometabolic diseases in a large section of the populace. They were urged to fortify their body and enhance their vitality through life coaches who mentored, measured, and monitored their clients.
The SENS clinic has a fully-equipped skin, aesthetics and laser centre with nine treatment rooms manned by experts. It brings revolutionary age management solutions from functional and regenerative medicine to cosmetic dermatology, alternative healing, hair and make-up studio.
Their unconventional approach of predictive prevention is personalized for each individual from the bouquet of services catering to maintenance of the mind, somatic treatment of the body and awakening of the soul, ranging from the ancient science of Ayurveda and energy healing to the most advanced techniques of genome sequencing, bio-hormone replacement therapies and cryotherapy, to name a few.
SENS promises that its users will experience increased energy and libido, reduced body fat and improved cholesterol scores, strengthened immune system and better stress management. So whether it is beauty, hair care, wellness, lifestyle adjustments or rejuvenation, SENS has it all. It seems like the right destination for a healthy makeover!
