What do you think makes the perfect gentleman? Is it his confidence, his sartorial style, his tastes? To me, it’s a carefully crafted combination of style, substance, the passion to learn, an enjoyment of the finer things in life, and wonderful manners.
Styling Luxury Men’s Ties with Style Dotty
Over the years, it’s been heartening to see the emergence of so many male fashion bloggers in India too, because I believe that men have as much the freedom to indulge themselves, to learn about being well-dressed and well-groomed, without aspersions being cast on their masculinity. In a well-dressed man, I see confidence, self-love and a desire to present the best he can be to the world. That’s why I was excited to work on my very first men’s luxury fashion styling project, in collaboration with Style Dotty. When it comes to luxury men’s ties, pocket squares and more, they’re a great platform to discover new fabrics, colours and patterns to add to a man’s sartorial choices for his wardrobe.
In this post, I’ve styled luxury men’s ties and pocket squares from Panah London to create the perfect formal look.
Panah is a British artisanal luxury brand that is known for its creative craftsmanship. The brand has collaborated with various Italian luxury tailoring houses using the finest fabrics to create ties and pocket squares that represent the finest in luxury men’s fashion. We’ve styled two different ties from Panah London in this post. The first is their grenadine silk ties (you might recall seeing Sean Connery style them in the James Bond movies). Grenadine silk has a unique open woven texture and is usually worn for formal occasions.
This royal purple grenadine silk tie, being of a heavier fabric, can be worn with a four-in-hand knot or a half-Windsor. Styled here with a white printed button-down shirt and a pinstriped suit. The beauty of this tie lies in its texture and the ease with which it can be styled.
Style a grenadine silk tie with a dress shirt for a contrast in textures. If it’s a formal occasion or a meeting, you could wear a tailored suit with this, or just pair the shirt with a pair of well-fitted trousers and lace-up brogues.
If you’re looking for a pocket square to add more personality to your outfit, Panah London has a range of 100% high-grade Mulberry silk twill pocket squares in contemporary patterns and colours. Here we have styled a reversible polka dot pocket square from the Heritage collection by Panah. The versatility of the fabric, albeit a little thick, allows for experimenting with different folds, and we have tried the triangular ‘one tip up’ fold. Whether you’re going to a wedding or dinner at a fine dining restaurant on a special day, a pocket square is an accessory that provides a stylish contrast to your suit.
We loved this lilac printed silk tie both for the print and the Italian twill silk. This tie is self-tipped and crafted in Italy. You could pair it with a white button-down or a light powder blue button-down with black or navy trousers. More pictures now!
Styling and wearing these luxury men’s ties from Panah London gave us a taste of true luxury and told a tale of the finest attention to detail and premium stitching for the modern gentleman. While it is difficult to ascertain quality while shopping online, we at Sartorial Secrets were able to get our hands on some of the fabric swatches of Italian cotton shirts from the Panah London collection. Here they are – observe the quality of the weave and the available patterns.
