I got the blues in Springtime/Cause I know that I’ll never have the right shoes
Lyrics: Aretha by Rumer
My OOTDs will always have excerpts from a song I relate to in that particular moment – if there are any you love or relate to, let me know in the comments below! I hope you like the first OOTD on SS – I’d like to thank the talented Praveen Vijayan, who’s great to work with, and has a lot of ideas he adds to our shoots.
Springtime in Bangalore makes me happy because it’s beautiful – it truly is the Garden City for a reason, walking around my neighbourhood and looking at the trees in full bloom is such a treat. There’s a slight chill in the air left from winter, and it’s so perfect. I wasn’t ready to let go of winter yet, and being a Delhi girl I couldn’t resist the temptation of a transition outfit that’s winter-inspired yet has a springtime vibe. This look is super easy to create when you’re not in the mood to go hunting around in your closet.
Blue and black are easily my favourite colours – they’re classic, and the easiest to match! Often the simplest thing you can do to go from casual to chic is to add a blazer and a statement necklace, and add an interesting pattern or texture. I’ve matched stripes with solid colours to build interest around my outfit – add a pretty clutch and you’re good to go! This gold sequinned clutch is one of my favourites, from the Indian designer Princesse K. For an outfit like this, makeup is usually minimalistic, but you can add a splash of colour with your lipstick. Here I’m wearing Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Passion, paired with kajal-rimmed eyes and mineral foundation.
